ABOUT INNER CHI

Acupuncture is a dynamic and powerful way to realign and balance your body’s energy. It is a way of preventing illness as well as a path to curing illness. This is the cornerstone of my practice, and has been since 1998.

Mine is a general preventative practice, offering a wide variety of treatments, from the mildest aches and pains to the side effects of chemotherapy and those symptoms associated with cancer.  From stress discomfort to the common cold, from allergies to infertility.  Over the years I have developed extensive experience and a strong interest in treating female issues, although of course all genders and ages are welcome at Inner Chi.

ABOUT LEAH MCMAHON

My journey to Chinese Medicine began with a BS in sports science.  Alongside my degree I worked as an Athletic Trainer with Northwestern University’s football team.  I gained invaluable experience in the prevention, assessment and care of athletic injury.  After completing my degree I moved to Spain and worked as the personal trainer for the Joven Ballet, one of Madrid’s premier ballet schools.  The years I spent supporting athletes gave me tremendous experience with repetitive type injuries, such as tendonitis, muscle strains and spasms.

While in Madrid, I encountered Chinese medicine and was immediately fascinated with the ancient healing method and the concept of energy medicine.  As an athletic trainer, I had experience in seeing first hand how the holistic approach to health is the best way to treat the body and to take care of yourself.  My pursuit in the study of Chinese Medicine added a new dimension to my practice.

I received my Master's degree in Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, California, and shortly thereafter established my practice in the Los Angeles area.  Since that time, I have continued to broaden and deepen my knowledge by attending numerous postgraduate courses.  Foremost among my studies is the Japanese style of acupuncture, known as Kiiko Style after its founder, master acupuncturist Kiiko Matsumoto.
